I have always been drawn to natural body butters. I remember the first one I was given by my sister when I was pregnant with my daughter. It was a preventative stretch mark cream for the belly and for the body which left me feeling calm and nourished.

Since then, body creams have given me a sense of protection and soothed my mind. I have tried out many over the years and of recent, I came across Magnesium Body Creams.

As I have gotten older, I like finding alternative ways to nourish myself. I treat myself differently in my 40s, with more self-care and respect. I read ingredients on labels of products and respect the properties that they exhibit.

Magnesium being an essential vitamin, the creams and bath salts that I have started using at night give me a sense of calm. I have experienced a deeper rest and feel more rejuvenated.

The night time Magnesium cream has Melatonin which regulates sleep. I would recommend using the products at night as it has the longest time to be absorbed in the skin.

Magnesium plays many key roles throughout the body. It is important for muscles, nerve communication, your heart and bones and even your skin. Magnesium is better absorbed through the skin than absorbed internally so the benefits are wonderful. I feel like I am feeding my body with goodness when I have a bath filled with magnesium flakes.

Some of the benefits of Magnesium creams are:

– Manage Stress
– Sleep sounder
– Soothe muscle cramps post work out
– Help Arthritis
– Clear skin, eczema, dry skin and acne
– Ease headaches

These are just a few benefits from a simple 20- or 30-minute soak in the bath. You can use the flakes in the bath as well as with the body butter. I personally use both as I feel like the cream seals in the nutrients and gives an added boost to all the benefits overnight.

I believe that like the food we eat, the products that we use on our skin and absorb into our cells can also give us nutrients our body may be craving.

The post Balance and Well-being first appeared on Wild Green Roses.

Ever since I can remember I have always loved the feeling of having roses nearby. Be it the feeling of being loved or just the intention behind it. It is always associated with a softness in my heart.

In more recent times, I have been drawn to roses in products that I use externally. I can absorb the fragrance and the essence of the flower. I use it in my bath, body, and home-made scrubs. A few bottles of fresh, good quality rose water is a fixture in my home. Rose water in India can be bought at the Kama, Forest essentials or any chemist.

I personally love Dr Hauschka Rose Oil which I use with a carrier oil for massages or straight from the bottle, Dr Hauschka Rose Day Light Cream which feels like rose petals on your face as well as the Dr Hauschka Rose Nurturing Body Cream. I have been using these products for years and will always have one of these products in my bathroom cabinet.

Homemade Rose and Almond scrub:

3 cups grounded Almond Flour

4 tablespoons Sesame or Almond oil

4 drops of food quality Rose oil

2 tablespoons of Rosewater

Mix together until a paste. You can keep in a glass jar in your bathroom for a week to 10 days.

Use generously on your body.

I think Roses are every Women’s daily treat to herself to open her heart so why wait for the bouquet.
